How to care for your hair - the golden rules

Posted by Joanna on

You can't fool nature. Those of us who are blessed with naturally thick, strong hair are truly lucky. However, in our latitude, most women have hair that is naturally thin. This is also related to its color - blondes' hair is naturally thinner than brunettes' or brown-haired ones. However, our habits also have a significant impact on the condition of our hair. The list of forbidden habits should include touching your hair too often and playing with it, e.g. twisting strands around your fingers. Although they seem innocent, they can cause excessive greasiness of the hair and simply damage it.

And last but not least, care, which should be selected not only for the type of hair, but also (and even above all) for the scalp. If you have an excessive tendency to get oily, reach for special scalp scrubs (so-called scalp scrubs) and deep cleansing shampoos. Similarly, if you often use mousses, hairsprays and other hair styling products, especially those containing silicones, which stick the hair from the outside. On the other hand, for sensitive scalp, a good solution will be mild shampoos and conditioners without irritating washing and foaming substances, such as SLS and SLES, but enriched with soothing and normalizing ingredients. Such properties are possessed by, among others, natural aloe extract or panthenol, i.e. vitamin B5, which has an anti-inflammatory and regenerating effect on the scalp. It also makes the hair less tangled when combing.

If you dye your hair, reach for dedicated shampoos that will help to preserve its color and protect against the pigment washing out of the hair cuticle too quickly. The list of ingredients, in addition to natural oils and plant extracts, should include silk proteins, which have a rebuilding effect, as well as glycerin, which smoothes the hair cuticle and makes the hair more elastic. In conditioners, look for keratin. This protein is a natural building block of hair. In hydrolyzed form, it will strengthen it, filling in gaps in the hair cuticle and add volume, making it look thicker. Remember to use conditioner after every wash - it has a smoothing effect and prevents hair from pulling when combing.

Lightened hair requires special treatment. Dyed blondes probably know why - it is very difficult to maintain a light shade of blonde (the more platinum it is, the greater the challenge), because the pigment washes out quickly. Unfortunately, this color also has a tendency to yellow. That is why it is worth stocking up on shampoos, conditioners and rinses dedicated to blondes in silver or blue, which help maintain the desired, cool shade. In addition, regularly lightened hair requires intensive regeneration. After each wash, use a conditioner, and once a week or two, reach for a deeply nourishing, regenerating mask. After applying it to your hair, wrap your head in a towel - under the influence of heat, the hair cuticles will open and it will absorb the beneficial ingredients better. The ideal will be a soft and gentle towel Soft Hair Wrap GLOV , which you can easily tie on the top of your head into a comfortable turban.

If your hair is very weak, brittle and you find more and more of it on your brush, regenerating conditioners will help, for example with biotin, which strengthens and accelerates hair growth, and saw palmetto extract, which stops excessive hair loss. Also, avoid accessories that can damage your hair. Instead, reach for soft Scrunchies GLOV hair bands made of pleasant-to-touch cotton and satin, which prevent hair from tangling and frizzing.

Hair oils will protect against frost, sun and damage. These are multifunctional products - they nourish the hair, protect it and add shine to it. In a holiday cosmetic bag, they can also safely replace styling products. A little oil will tame unruly curls, emphasize their natural curl and help give the hairstyle the desired shape and structure. In turn, for straight hair, with a tendency to frizz, it will smooth and prevent it from getting electrified. Just put a drop of oil on your hand and then run it through your hair. If you are afraid that your hair will look greasy, comb it with a GLOV Raindrop Harbrush , which will help evenly distribute the cosmetic along its entire length.

The most valuable for hair are natural, cold-pressed oils, such as argan oil, which regenerates and prevents split ends, macadamia nut oil, which regenerates and does not weigh hair down, avocado oil, which limits excessive sebum secretion and is particularly recommended for hair that tends to get greasy, smoothing coconut oil or sunflower oil, which stops hair loss. They are rich in minerals, vitamins, including A, B and E, and unsaturated omega-3 and -6 fatty acids. They work in many ways: they moisturize the hair cuticle and facilitate combing, without exposing the hair to pulling, while at the same time intensively regenerating it. Try the best oil for you from among them or look for them in the composition of the cosmetic hair oil you reach for.
