You know that saying that girls with straight hair want curly hair and girls with curly hair want straight hair? Well, if you are (un)happy owner of curls or waves, we will convince you that with the right care your locks can look like they were taken from the hands of a Hollywood hairdresser!

But seriously: remember that your naturally curly or wavy hair will never look the same as "artificial" curls. Why? Because curly hair has a completely different structure than straight hair, only "changed" into a curl with the right equipment. The curls created are smooth, do not frizz and are usually more elastic (i.e. have a more pronounced shape) - unlike natural curls, which tend to frizz and electrify. So take care of the right care and accept your "curls" - because after all, they are what make you stand out, right? :)
Curly and wavy hair care - where to start?
Curly and wavy hair is usually dry. For this reason, choose a shampoo that will gently moisturize it. Also include a moisturizing hair mask in your care, which will make your locks smoother, regenerated and simply "angelic" - e.g. GLOV Hair Harmony . The Hair Harmony mask will work great during everyday care (also as a conditioner replacement!), as well as occasionally - e.g. as part of a home SPA.

Tip: Curly hair doesn't have to be dry or damaged. The shampoo is chosen according to the hair/scalp type, so if your curly hair gets oily, simply choose a shampoo for oily hair. It is also important that the shampoo does not contain any alcohol.
Nutrition = emollients and proteins
Another issue is conditioners. Care for curly and wavy hair should be based on placing emphasis on balancing the content of emollients and proteins, so choose emollient and protein conditioners . Emollient conditioners reduce frizz and smooth the strands, while protein conditioners have a regenerating (rebuilding) effect.
Curly hair also likes oiling , which is applying oil directly to the hair or adding a few drops to a mask or conditioner. Applying a small amount of oil to the ends also works great.
PEH and OMO - important shortcuts in curly hair care
The right level of emollients and proteins is part of the right PEH balance , which you can read about here . Additionally, washing with the OMO method works great on curly hair , which helps maintain this balance in the hair. You can read about the OMO method in this article .
Finally - styling
Styling also plays a big role in maintaining curls and waves, but the key to keeping this in balance is less is more . You don’t want to weigh your hair down and make your natural curls look worse than they did before you applied styling products, do you?
We recommend all kinds of boosters , or cosmetics that enhance natural curls. They usually come in the form of a gel or mousse that you apply to damp or dry hair. You simply knead it into your curls, and they gain more elasticity and don't frizz as much. Sea salt in the form of a mist will also work great to achieve a perfect curl like a surfer's.
When it comes to combing/detangling, only with a wide-toothed comb . Drying? Yes, but only in combination: a round steam brush with a dryer with a decent diffuser. All these accessories and devices will help to achieve a nice curl of natural curls without the need for excessive styling.
Tip: did you know that the towel you use after washing your hair is also important in the care of curly and wavy hair? A model made of microfiber will work best . Choose the GLOV Soft Hair Wrap turban , which does not weigh down or damage the locks and absorbs water twice as fast as a regular towel.

All you need is a little patience, love for your hair and perseverance in following the above tips and you will soon become the owner of curls/waves that you will be really proud of. Good luck, #GlovGirl!
