Hey, #GlovGirl! Summer is coming soon, so it would be a good idea to get a little brown, hmmm? 😉 We have something totally awesome for you! Below we paste a fragment of an unpublished e-book by GLOV in the form of one chapter - completely free! Stay tuned, because its premiere is coming soon! In the meantime, we wish you a pleasant reading 🌞
You're not a fan of tanning beds or spray tans, but after 5 minutes of basking in the sun you get too hot and run for the shade? We've got a solution for you on how to get a beautiful, healthy tan without the pain!
First of all, do not apply self-tanner with your “bare” hand, because there is always a risk that the cosmetic will not wash off thoroughly and then you will have to deal with streaks, most often between your fingers or on the inside of your hand. For this purpose, use a special GLOV Tan Mitt .
What is worth knowing about the Tan Mitt?
- Suitable for foam, spray and balm products.
- The glove fits the hand perfectly and does not slip, effectively protecting the hands and nails from dirt.
- The inside of the glove has an additional protective layer that prevents the cosmetic from penetrating the material, ensuring minimal wear.
- The glove is double-sided - ideal for both right- and left-handed people.
- The velvety, delicate structure of the glove will make applying self-tanner a pleasant, home ritual.
Tip: Remember that some of the self-tanner will be washed off with your first shower. However, if you think you've applied too much, it's worth wiping your face and body with a dry GLOV On-The-Go or Comfort glove. If you've noticed too much color intensity the next day, exfoliate with the GLOV Tan Away glove.
After a few days or weeks, your tan will fade on its own. Ideally, the color would fade with the same intensity from every part of your body, right? Unfortunately, this rarely happens, so as a result, you have to deal with a so-called marbled tan, i.e. full of streaks. To get rid of them, we recommend the Tan Away glove mentioned above.

- The GLOV Tan Away glove will prepare your skin for self-tan by gently and effectively exfoliating it and removing dead skin.
- Smoothes out unevenness, evens out skin tone, firms it and stimulates circulation.
- It will help get rid of unwanted streaks left by self-tanning products, so it is ideal especially if you do not have much experience with this type of product.
- Eliminates a tan that is too strong or old, unsightly looking.
- Additionally, it works well in the case of ingrown hairs, pimples on the body and persistent cellulite.
How to apply self-tanner to the body?
- Start with the legs, working from the bottom up.
- Use circular motions on your belly.
- Lubricate your hands and neckline using horizontal movements.
- When applying cosmetics to your back, it is best to ask someone to help you, because you won't be able to reach it yourself.
- Leave the sensitive parts of the body - knees, ankles and elbows - for last.
Tip: Your feet, knees, elbows and ankles are naturally a lighter shade than the rest of your body. The skin there is also thinner. So moisturise these areas well first to avoid dry patches that tend to get darker. Also, use less self-tanner there to avoid streaks and spots.
How to apply self-tanner to your face?
- Before starting the treatment, apply a little Vaseline to the eyebrow area and the hairline so that the color does not stand out in these places.
- Don't smear your face with vertical movements - always apply the cosmetic from the nose to the cheeks. Don't forget about the jaw line!
- To avoid creating a mask effect, treat the skin around the lips, ears and on the border of the face and neck with a thin layer or mix the self-tanner with your daily cream.
Our tips that can save your tan:
- When applying self-tanner, never leave the substance unspread in one place for too long. This is just begging for spots and streaks!
- Remember to blend properly, especially when performing circular movements. For this purpose, use the other, less saturated side of the glove.
- Proper skin preparation is half the battle. By that we mean exfoliation before and moisturising after.
- If this is your first time using a self-tanner, test it on a small area of your skin to see if it causes any allergic reactions. If nothing alarming appears after a few minutes, you can safely use it.
How to choose the right self-tanner?
- Choose a shade that matches your skin tone. There are usually two options available on the market: for light and dark skin. It is important not to mix them up; a product for dark skin applied to light skin will make the effect unnatural, and sometimes even orange. On the other hand, a self-tanner for light skin applied to dark skin may turn out yellow.
- Choose a separate self-tanner for your body and face. It's best if they're from the same brand - then you'll be guaranteed the same shade on your body and face.
- Pay attention to the consistency of the self-tanner, especially when it comes to your face. Choose it according to your skin type. For oily skin, a foam is best, because it doesn't leave a sticky feeling. For dry skin, a cream or lotion with moisturizing properties will be better. Remember that foams absorb faster.
Good luck!
