On October 18, 2023, a unique event took place at Praski Koneser in Warsaw, inaugurating a new era of sustainable development. The unveiling of the fifth ecological bench created from recycled used GLOV® gloves is the result of a closed textile loop that the brand runs in cooperation with VIVE Textile Recycling.

The bench, which can be seen in the courtyard of Praski Koneser next to the entrance to Google for Startups Campus , is the result of cooperation between the GLOV® brand and Vive Textile Recycling . Made from recycled materials, including used GLOV® gloves , it is an excellent example of how waste can be transformed into functional and ecological elements of small architecture.

Everything is in your hands

We want to show our customers around the world that by making everyday choices, they have an impact on the environment. That is why we conduct our activities under the slogan "Everything in your hands" - says Ewa Dudzic-Filaseta, VP of the GLOV® brand.

How does the GLOV® brand close the textile cycle?

This project highlights the GLOV® brand's commitment to creating a closed loop and minimizing the impact of the beauty industry on the environment. The GLOV® brand promotes zero waste practices, allowing customers to reduce their consumption of packaging and cosmetic products. An additional advantage is the fact that used GLOV® products can be returned free of charge to the manufacturer, after which they will be processed into an innovative Texcellence® textile composite. This in turn can be used to create durable and comfortable park benches.
GLOV® gloves, which were used to produce the bench, are an innovative product that replaces up to 5 make-up removal products.

One such bench is over 8,000 used gloves or 45,000 GLOV®️ pads that we collect from our customers from all over the world. This means that together we have saved the environment 1,234 tons of single-use waste: 3,700,000 single-use pads, 18,000 plastic bottles and even 3,600 liters of cosmetics with chemical composition. Instead of garbage, we create benches together. – says Monika Żochowska, CEO of the GLOV® brand.

So far, the GLOV® brand has created four such benches - two of them were placed in Gdynia, the other two travel with the brand's representatives around the world. The bench, which was ceremonially unveiled in the Praga Koneser, is the third bench that will be available to all visitors to Warsaw's Praga.

"Closed Loop – The Path to Zero Waste" – Panel During AIP Seed Day

The event participants could also listen to the panel "Closed loop - the path to zero waste", which took place as part of AIP Seed Day. The speakers were: Monika Żochowska and Ewa Dudzic-Filaseta, co-founders of the GLOV®️ brand, Marek Zaleski from VIVE Textile Recycling, Karina Królak, zero waste jewelry designer, and Martyna Kaczmarek, model and social activist. They talked about building a business based on zero waste principles, supporting innovative solutions between brands, creative approaches to zero waste in the beauty and fashion industry, and closing the textile loop.

This event is an inspiration for how companies like GLOV® can actively engage in creating a greener future and encourage consumers to make informed purchasing decisions. The message is clear: it's all in your hands!
