How to take care of your body and hair during quarantine?

HAIR OILING

Few of us have time to oil our hair every day. During home quarantine, you will easily find the space for it. You don't have to go to work with your head not dry, and sitting at home with oil on your hair is not a problem either. Haven't you heard of hair oiling before? This treatment involves applying oil or a mixture of oils to the scalp and the entire length of the hair, which is then washed out of the hair. Oils can nourish and moisturize the scalp, and when it comes to hair, they will protect it along its entire length and cover it with a protective layer. It is worth remembering that hair is dead. Its condition is affected by the condition of the scalp and what is happening in the hair bulb. To enjoy beautiful and shiny hair, take care of a diet that provides all the necessary nutrients. However, do not let yourself be convinced that masks or serums are able to fix split ends or repair broken hair. However, you can protect it from moisture loss, moisturize it and protect it from the outside. This is where oil will come in handy.

Not all hair likes the same oils. Much depends on its porosity. Not sure what it is? Take a hair porosity test. You can match your entire care to your porosity.
  • Low porosity hair likes oils such as coconut oil, palm oil. Cocoa butter and mango will also work.
  • Medium porosity hair will love olive oil, avocado oil, plum seed oil (which smells wonderfully of marzipan), sweet almond oil, but also sunflower oil, sesame oil, castor oil or hazelnut oil.
  • Highly porous hair will feel good when treated with sunflower oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil, pumpkin seed oil, evening primrose oil, grape seed oil or evening primrose oil.

Oiling should begin with washing the hair.

Skip applying conditioner or any rubs, just cleanse your locks and scalp thoroughly, then gently dry (preferably with the help of HAIR WRAP ). Apply the chosen oil to damp hair, strand by strand, and rub it into the scalp as well. Be careful with the dosage, the hair should be oiled, but not dripping with grease. A light, plastic brush will help you distribute the oil. Tie your hair in a bun or braid it and leave it oiled overnight. Some girls like to put a towel on the pillow so as not to dirty the pillowcase or put on our hair turban overnight (yes, we are talking about Hair Wrap again ;)). In the morning, wash your hair twice with a mild shampoo, so as to get rid of the oil, but not to wash out the entire protective layer it has created on the hair. After such a treatment, you should notice greater hair elasticity and increased shine. If you like oiling, try this practice once or twice a week. You can also create your own oil blends once you know which fats your hair likes best.

PEELING

Regular exfoliation is a very important part of body care. The skin becomes radiant, firmer, compact, absorbs nutrients from the cosmetics we apply to it better, gains moisture, and its color becomes more even. When we get rid of dead skin, we also reduce the risk of clogged pores, which is why it is worth using an exfoliation for both the face and the whole body. Today we will advise how to do it.

DRY BODY BRUSHING

One of the beauty rituals can be dry brushing of the body . The face can also be brushed and massaged. Contraindications for this treatment are sensitive skin with fragile blood vessels. If you have such sensitive skin, this treatment is not for you - you can cause broken blood vessels. In any other case, brushing will bring many benefits - it will gently polish the skin, brush off dead skin, stimulate microcirculation and move lymph. Such a massage has a relaxing effect and can reduce cellulite. The skin becomes taut and firmer. It is important to choose a brush that suits us in terms of softness. Many people already have a dry brush at home, but quickly get discouraged. If you are one of them, maybe it is worth returning to this method? You will see the results really quickly. If you do not have a brush, you can order it online. You can choose between brushes made of animal hair (e.g. horse hair, which is soft or very stiff boar hair) or plant hair. Brushes with plant bristles are usually stiffer and harder. For the face, you need a separate brush with softer bristles.

Always brush your teeth in the morning before showering.

Start with the soles of your feet and brush upwards in a gliding motion. You can brush your buttocks, stomach or thighs in circular motions. Always brush your body towards your heart. Don't neglect your elbows, hands, arms, and if you have a family member nearby, ask them to brush your neck and shoulders as well - this massage will help you release tension - especially if you work at home on a computer, where your workstation may be less adapted than in the office. You can brush your skin every 2-3 days. Afterwards, jump in the shower and rinse off any dead skin. Remember to wash your brush regularly under warm water. If it's made of untreated wood, you can oil it with cooking oil.

SKIN SMOOTHING BODY EXFOLIATION GLOVE

Although dry brushing brings great results, it takes more time and not all of us feel like doing it. If you prefer a daily exfoliation and want to combine it with a quick shower, choose the GLOV SKIN SMOOTHING glove. We designed it so that it fits well on both your right and left hand. You can use it with your favorite shower gel or just water. It has anti-cellulite properties, improves blood circulation and firms the body. In our opinion, size does not matter, but we feel good in our skin when it is smooth and shiny. Skin Smoothing also perfectly prepares the skin for the reception of a tanning cream or self-tanner. It looks like we will be staying at home until May, so a fake tan may be in demand (it always improves our mood). You will see the first effects of skin firmness after the first use, and after thirty days your skin will be completely changed. Skin Smoothing is also much more delicate than body brushes. We made it from antibacterial and antifungal bamboo fibers, making it easy to keep clean.

COFFEE PEELING

Coffee scrub is a hit among handmade body care products. If you are a coffee lover, you should definitely try it, because in addition to its effectiveness, it has a zero waste aspect. You need coffee grounds from previously brewed coffee. Mix them with oil or olive oil. Coconut oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil will be great, but if you use olive oil for your body - it will also work. You can also use bath gel, although in our experience oils work much better in this scrub. Mix coffee with oil to the consistency of a thick paste. You can add a little honey or sugar (they will have a moisturizing effect) and a few drops of essential oil (orange, rosewood, grapefruit - they will blend great). Coffee scrub is best used immediately or within 2-3 days. Store it in a sealed jar. Apply to wet skin (it may be too strong to use on the face) and massage, massage, massage! The skin is perfectly moisturized and firmer after. Coffee oil scrub is not a good base for self-tanner or balm, because the skin is covered with oil, which limits the absorption of cosmetics. Coffee scrub is amazing, but its big downside is a terribly messy bathroom.

SUGAR FACE AND SCALP PEELING

Sugar can accelerate skin aging, which is why a high-sugar diet has more disadvantages than just causing weight gain. Interestingly, externally applied sugar has a completely different effect on the skin. Regular white sugar has moisturizing properties for both the skin and hair. Small grains of sugar have exfoliating properties - choose whether you prefer fine or coarse sugar. Sugar does not cause allergies and dissolves in warm water, so it will definitely not stay on the hairline and is easier to rinse out of the hair than in the case of store-bought scrubs used on the scalp. How to make a sugar scrub? It's incredibly simple. Mix white or cane sugar with your favorite face gel or shampoo if you intend to make a scalp scrub. In addition to its moisturizing properties, sugar easily binds with the keratin contained in the hair. Thanks to sugar scrub, the hair becomes soft, shiny and the ends do not split so easily. Exfoliating your scalp helps get rid of built-up styling products and conditioners that can build up and block hair follicles and clog pores, slowing down hair growth or causing hair loss.

HAND CARE

Do you also wash your hands much more often now and use disinfectant gels in addition? If so, we won't be surprised when your skin becomes dry, red and itchy. The first signs of eczema may also appear. Cracked skin on the hands concerns us all due to increased hygiene during the ongoing epidemic. Hand washing should not be skipped, but it is worth knowing how to alleviate the effects of excessive hygiene. Any hand soap is good, the important thing is to wash them for a sufficiently long time (30 seconds) and rinse them off with warm water. Alcohol-based antibacterial gels dry out the skin, so their use should be limited if possible. Apply cream to your hands after each hand wash. Even if you have previously liked beautifully scented and rich creams, light, quickly absorbing and fragrance-free ones will work better now. Ask for one in your pharmacy or use the ones you already have at home. At night, you can apply a thicker layer of a richer cream, or even mix it with olive oil, raspberry seed oil or plum oil. You will achieve the best regeneration effect by putting cotton gloves on your creamed hands.
