What is eau de toilette really? How does it differ from perfume? And most importantly - which one to choose for yourself?

What is eau de toilette?

Eau de toilette or eau de toilette is a composition in which the concentration of essential oils is from 5% to 10%. Eau de toilette is a very light form of scented water, recommended especially for the warmer part of the year, i.e. spring and summer. Due to the low concentration of essential oils, it is also a much more affordable option.

From perfume to body mist.

You've probably googled the answer to the question: "What's the difference between eau de toilette and perfume?". We'll dispel your doubts once and for all. It all depends on... the concentration of essential oils. Perfumes contain the most of them - between 20% and 43%. Real perfume extract is an extremely exclusive and very expensive product. Its name comes from the place where it was created - a factory in the German city of Cologne. It was there that the first eau de cologne in the world was created. It was produced by Johann Maria Farina. The original Farina eau de cologne can still be bought today, but its recipe has been slightly updated over the years. The list ends with a refreshing eau, also called body mist or eau fraiche, with the lowest concentration of essential oils (1% to 3%). It is an extremely light and rather short-lived fragrance composition, which will work especially well on hot summer days. Almost all large clothing chains have body mists in their offer.
