Our products have been awarded the GRS certificate!

We brag! Our products include: Hair Wrap, Soft Hair Wrap, Bunny Ears, Moon Pads and Heart Pads have been awarded the international GRS certificate! And what do these 3 letters mean?

On the alternativetextiles.pl website you can read: GRS, or Global Recycled Standard , is an international, voluntary standard that specifies requirements for the certification of recycled fibers. The aim of the GRS program is to increase the use of recycled materials while taking care of the environment, social conditions, or control of the chemicals used that are safe for humans and the environment.

In order for a product to be eligible for this certification, it must contain at least 20% recycled materials. IMPORTANT: In order to officially use the certificate, e.g. in marketing communications, this content should be at least 50% . The GRS certificate was very popular in the clothing industry, but today it goes far beyond it and appears everywhere where we deal with textile products.

GLOV x GRS in practice

Our textiles listed at the beginning of the article have been awarded the GRS certificate because they are made of 100% recycled polyester . We are very proud that we meet international standards at every stage of production and the supply chain. This is the best proof that we conduct responsible social and environmental practices in line with modern business. In this way, we want to show our customers that when they buy from us, they are making informed purchasing decisions.

Recycled Polyester? That's Not All!

We will say immodestly - recycling is our middle name! The GLOV brand is based on the idea of "less waste", so we cannot imagine it being any different.

  • All our products do not contain any toxic or environmentally hazardous substances (e.g. heavy metals and dyes) and are therefore recyclable.

  • The products from our offer that do not meet the standards, as well as material offcuts, are appropriately segregated and then sent to a recycling company, where they are given a new life.

  • We are currently cooperating with VIVE Innovation. This is a modern, reliable and stable organization, which is considered a leader in the textile recycling industry in Poland and Europe. Thanks to this fruitful cooperation, we created two solid benches standing on the boulevards in Gdynia from 45,000 used Moon Pads and 8,000 used On-The-Go gloves . Such an innovation has never happened before!

  • In addition, we use recycled paper (e.g. for our Natural Harmony cosmetics packaging ), which is FSC certified (reduction in the number of prints - mandatory double-sided printing). We also use stretch film and recycled cleaning products.

Changes, changes in the fashion&beauty industry

The largest textile companies are increasingly reaching for planet-friendly solutions. No more waste! That is why sustainable production is one of the strongest “trends” that will continue for a long time. Another very interesting phenomenon is the use of fabrics made from plants that regenerate quickly and generate little waste – we are talking about bamboo, linen and hemp (GLOV is also preparing novelties on this topic - stay tuned!).

What about recycling? Fashion houses are releasing new clothing and cosmetics collections less and less often, thus encouraging people to “return” to their “old” stocks. Global brands offer to renovate old clothes or return them when buying new ones. In addition, stock levels are regulated, reducing their quantity by introducing upcycling (creating completely new clothing lines only from unfashionable and unused clothes).

In the beauty industry, you can “play” a lot with packaging. Old aluminum cosmetic tubes are recycled into… bicycle frames. We increasingly see creams packaged in glass, which is easier to dispose of and recycle. Cardboard packaging? Only from recycled paper. If we’re talking about packaging at all, because more and more beauty brands are giving it up completely, offering so-called naked products ( without packaging).

We are glad that as a GLOV brand we are contributing to improving the state of the planet, and recycling solutions are our everyday life. We are glad that many other brands on the market share our concept of running a responsible business. Together we can do more - for the Earth!
